Psoriasis, dermatitis, neurodermatitis, vitiligo, etc. are carried out in the MC "Bogolyuby" by the method of narrow-band medium-wave phototherapy.

A photobooth from WALDMANN (Germany) is used for this with TL-1 lamps, which generate radiation in the wavelength range of 310-315 nm with maximum emission at a wavelength of 311 nm.

This method allows you to achieve positive results in most cases without the use of drug therapy.

The photo booth also helps to cleanse the skin in case of atopic dermatitis, cathedral dermatitis, acne, alopecia areata, lichen planus. Treatment is carried out in courses of 10-20 meanings 1-2 times a year. The number, duration and intensity of therapy is determined by the doctor.

Papillomas, warts, nevi and other skin neoplasms removal carried out by the apparatus SURGITRON (EllmanInc, USA).

Surgitron, which is used in Bogoliuby MC, is the only one in the region with the possibility of precise electronic power control in each mode of operation.

Dermatoscopy in our medical center is carried out with an innovative digital dermatoscope DERMASKOPE polarizer HR 200 (DinoLiteEurope, Netherlands), which allows you to examine neoplasms at different degrees of magnification (from 10x to 200x) and in special anti-reflective polarizing illumination.

Digital technology allows you to save dermatoscopic images in an individual database of each patient, print them, and, if necessary, consult with leading specialists in Ukraine and the Netherlands (KSYOSTeleMedicalCentre, Antwerp, Netherlands).

Surgitron

Сургітрон (Surgitron)- - This is a radio wave surgery apparatus manufactured by the American company "ELLMAN International". Used to remove warts, papillomas, nevi, areas of dysplasia (erosion) of the cervix.

The method of treatment for Surgitron is called radio wave surgery, radio wave coagulation, or radio wave excision..

The basis of Surgitron's work is high frequency radio waves (4.0 MHz). Such waves cause evaporation of liquid inside skin cells or mucous membranes. That is, the cells themselves actually evaporate. In this case, the surrounding cells, to which the radio wave is not directed, are not injured. Therefore, the consequences are milder - the incidence of scars on the skin after exposure to a radio knife is much less than after exposure to a laser or other methods.

This is why radio wave treatment is often used on the face, cervix and genitals, especially in women who have never given birth. That is, where there is very delicate and thin skin or mucous membrane, and where scar formation is undesirable.

Why is the use of a radio knife considered the best today among all methods of removing various formations on the skin?

- - When using an electrocoagulator, we also get a burn of the surrounding tissues (high temperature of the working element, a long time of its contact with the skin) and, as a result: long-term pain in the places of removal, a long healing period, a high probability of scar formation.

- - When using liquid nitrogen (cryosurgery), a blister (often with blood) is formed at the site of exposure, severe pain after removal for up to two days, long-term healing, scarring.

- - When using a laser, the wound heals a little longer, there is a greater likelihood of scarring, but the most important thing is that there is no precise control by the doctor regarding the depth of the effect.

indications for radio wave surgery
How does the procedure for removing papillomas, warts, nevi or other pathological skin formations undergo?
1 Leather processing by means of antiseptic
2 Local anesthesia with an anesthetic (ultracaine). Anesthetic is injected into the skin with a syringe with a fine needle or by applying a special cream with anesthetic.
3 It takes 3-5 minutes for complete anesthesia of the skin.

The doctor selects a waveguide, and with the help of the "Surgitron" apparatus and removes the formation. The removed element can be sent for histological examination, especially if there are doubts about its malignant transformation. But after such removal, a small scar may form. Also, the papilloma can be removed with Surgitron, with smooth fractional movements, removing its tissue layer by layer. In this case, the removal is carried out under the control of vision, in layers, without going deep into the deep layers of the skin. Therefore, there is practically no scar in such cases. Treatment of the skin with an antiseptic.
5 Using a ball waveguide, the doctor smoothly removes the remnants of the formation on the skin, smoothing the wound.
6 After removal, the doctor treats the wound with an aqueous solution of chlorhexidine or fucorcin (or another antiseptic).
! Histological examination of elements or their parts is carried out only after their complete removal!
What to do after removing a nevus (or papilloma) with a radio knife? On the first day, exclude the ingress of water and treat the wound with an antiseptic (aqueous chlorhexidine or fucorcin, or another solution that the doctor advises you). After the crust has formed and by the time it falls off, treat the skin with an antiseptic, which will be advised by your doctor,
Дерматоскопия
  • Dermatoscopy - This is a non-invasive (without removal or even minimal damage) method of examining the skin, or rather neoplasms on it. It is carried out with a dermatoscope, with the help of which the condition of the neoplasms, color, structure of the epidermis and deeper layers of the skin is assessed. The method allows you to diagnose in the early stages (when the changes are invisible to the naked eye), malignant skin tumors, including melanomas.
  • - For pigmented skin lesions (moles), the sensitivity of the dermatoscopy method is about 96%. The results of many studies have shown that the use of dermoscopy increases the number of correct diagnoses by more than 40%. However, there are cases when dermatoscopy is not an effective diagnostic method (for example, in the diagnosis of subcutaneous skin neoplasms such as lipomas and others).
  • - There are no contraindications for the dermatoscopy method. The study uses an optical system of polarized light and, if necessary, a special liquid (immersion). The contact surface of the dermatoscope is placed on the surface of the formation, after which the digital dermatoscopic image is fixed.
  • - Dermatoscopy is absolutely harmless for a pregnant or lactating woman. Some researchers note the activation of the growth of moles during or after childbirth, proves the need for screening examinations in women during such periods of life.

The examination must be carried out in the following cases:
  • - you have a fast-growing mole or an existing mole has changed its characteristics (shape, color, size) in a short period of time;
  • - you injured a mole;
  • - you decided to remove the mole for aesthetic reasons, but want to be sure that it is safe;
  • - you have a large number of moles (> 50) and new ones are constantly appearing;
  • - Your close relatives have been diagnosed with melanoma or other skin cancer;
  • - you have a congenital birthmark in places of chronic friction, which sometimes becomes inflamed;
  • - you just want to be sure of the benign formation on the skin.
